Ferrum
Buy the box
Purchase channels are being prepared. Please contact AXG support for now.
Installation
1.Connect the box to PC
#1.Use a USB cable to connect Ferrum's Legacy API (CP210x) port to the PC
2.Connect the mouse or wireless receiver to Ferrum's mouse port
For the location of each port, refer to Ferrum's official guide.
Ferrum official guideAIG5 only automatically finds a CP210x plugged directly into the PC. The virtual COM port created by the Ferrum App (Software API) is not found at the moment, so please use the Legacy API direct connection instead
2.Check the driver
#1.Open Move the mouse to the Windows Start button
Device Manager is in the right-click menu
2.Expand Ports (COM & LPT)
3.If you can see Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM?), the driver is working
Windows usually installs the CP210x driver automatically. If you can't find it under Ports, you don't need to install it yourself first—in the next step, when you connect the box, AIG5 detects the missing driver and shows an install prompt (see the note below). If you want to check or install it manually beforehand, you can download it from the Silicon Labs website.
CP210x driver download (Silicon Labs website)Same as Makcu: if the CP210x driver can't be detected when connecting the box, AIG5 shows the "Installing the dedicated driver might help" dialog. Click Install and continue to install it automatically (one Windows permission confirmation is required, and in rare cases Windows needs a restart). If you click Not now, you can download and install it yourself from the Silicon Labs website using the button above.
3.Connect the box to AIG Assist
#1.Open AIG5 and log in
2.On the Input mode page, set Input method to Ferrum (marked "Auto-detect")
3.Click Connect box
4.After a successful connection, AIG5 moves on to the next page automatically (Sensitivity Calibration or the console)
- You don't need to enter a COM port. AIG5 scans automatically and verifies Ferrum's identity.
- After a successful connection, AIG5 connects to the same Ferrum automatically the next time you open it.
- The box's default rate is 115200. If you have changed Ferrum's rate to 3000000, AIG5 tries that automatically too, so no extra setting is needed.
Notes
#FAQ
#"No hardware box found" appears
AIG5 can't find any CP210x device. Please check:
- The box's Legacy API port is connected to the PC (not only to the Ferrum App)
- CP210x is visible under Ports in Device Manager (see step 2 above)
Then press OK to close the dialog and press Connect box again.
#"Serial port in use by another program" appears
The box was found, but its COM port is being used by another program (for example the Ferrum App or a serial port tool). Close that program and press Retry, or choose the COM port manually instead.
#"Couldn't confirm this is a Makcu" appears
Ferrum shares this dialog too. It means this COM port didn't respond to Ferrum's identity check. First unplug and replug the box, then press Retry. If there are several CP210x devices on the PC, press Choose another port to pick one manually.
#Does Ferrum need a second PC?
No. Ferrum supports separating the gaming PC and the assist PC (second PC), but this is not required. When using them separately, you can turn on Dual Machine Mode on the gear page of the AIG5 console.
